Are We About To See Unintended Consequences Resulting From Well-Intentioned Eviction Moratoriums?

The federal moratorium on rental eviction expired July 25, and the recent executive order doesn't protect people against current evictions, or the landlords that don't receive back rents. Basically, the executive order only askes the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Director of CDC to look into whether it should be continued to preven...

Executive action during congressional negotiations? Questionable? What did it do?

Signing of executive orders at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J.

Since the constitution grants congress the power to appropriate funds and oversee that the funds are spent properly, the executive action taken by the president attempting to provide additional federal economic relief on his own is questionable as to whether it is legal. The action uses Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds for the costs...

San Antonio got a treat this year. Not since 1985 have we hand snow that actually covered the ground. It only lasted a day, though. Nice just the same.

The Last of the Fish

Tonight we feasted on the last of the fish from the Seadrift trip. It made for a delicious meal. As for the One-That-Didn't-Get-Away, it would have just been one of those fish stories had Kaylee not have taken a picture of the one that Sharon reeled in. The Crew and the Boat  The one that didn't get away... it was too big to keep, though, an...

Father's Day Access to Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery

To anyone going to Ft. Sam National Cemetery today for Father's Day, it may appear that you can't get into part of the cemetery because of road work. If you need access to the cemetery east of Nursery road, just drive on up to the security guard entrance and let them know that you are there to visit the cemetery and they'll let you proceed through their check-point. You won't need a military ID.

The Neighborhood Exchange - Open Testing

From: The Founder I want to thank our early testers for providing feedback on what our site needed to include to make it useful as a neighborhood communications tool. This is where the rubber meets the road--real world testing--inviting neighbors t...

Although, the website The Neighborhood Exchange was originally envisioned as just something we could use to stay in touch with each other, it's sort of grown to include much more fu...
